Mumbai: The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs)have got competition when it comes to attracting financial companies and consultancies for campus recruitment: the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

IIT Bombay will place its students in companies like Mc Kinsey, Boston Consultancy Group and UBS for the first time.

IIT Delhi will have recruiters like Barclays Capital, Bain and Company and Opera Solutions on campus this year. The companies will also visit IIT Kharagpur campus for the first time this year.

The number of companies visiting IIT campuses have also doubled since last year. So while IIT, Delhi will have more than 300 companies on campus this year, IIT, Bombay is expecting around 225 recruiters.

With just three days down into recruitments, IIT Bombay has already placed 120 students with an average pay packet of Rs 10 lakh.

The average salary packets at IIM, Ahmedabad this year was around Rs 9.5 lakh.

However, the placements are underway and we will have to wait and watch whether the IITs will maintain their lead.

MY SUGGESTION IS :

it is engineering college where as iim is a management institution 
u can only get a seat in iim if and only if u have completed ur graduation and cracked an exam called CAT
comparison between iit and iim is like comparing air and water 
both are different 
AND YOU CAN NEVER JOIN ANY IIM AFTER 12TH CLASS NO MATTER EVEN IF U GET AIR 1 IN CAT EXAM 
U MUST AND SHOULD COMPLETE YOUR GRADUATION 
THAT'S IT .
My suggestion is first join any good IIT or NIT or any reputed engineering college and then crack CAT and get a seat in IIM 
try concentrating on ur graduation
